I use photography as a way to artistically express my thoughts and emotions, which was always my dream.
Still Life photo is my passion. I try to assemble ordinary things in our lives, including elements of our local flora, to create pieces of art work. I am inspired by the beauty of natural life, especially if that life is brief and fragile.
My first Still Life photo art exhibition was in 1999 at the “Spring Vernisage” art show (Cleveland, Ohio), followed by several other local shows.
In 2006 my work was exhibited at the "All Women All Art“ show at the Opus Galery (Woodmere, Ohio), and was recognized by Zachary Lewis of the "Cleveland Scene" newspaper (August 23, 2006), who writes:
…Victoria Dumesh’s digital photography is particularly memorable. Applying modern technology to a traditional genre, Dumesh shoots intricate arrangements of flowers in glass cases, in lovely outdoor settings. A painter would capture these rather academic scenes in deep, lush colors and shadowy patterns of refracted sunlight. But Dumesh has no use for paints, since her high-resolution camera renders the compositions with the softness of a brush and a vibrant, living presence that’s almost surreal…
In 2008, my work “Tulips in the Morning” was awarded "The Best in Show" prize at The Mandel JCC's 38th Juried Photography Exhibition (Juried by Robert Thurmer).
In 2009 I had a solo exhibition at the North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center.
My Awards also include 1-st prize at the Annual Digital Photography Contest “Focus on the World”, sponsored by Cedar Center Motophoto, and the "Best in Show" award at the John Hopkins University Applied Lab annual photography show (2010).
For several years my photos were part of the permanent exhibit at offices of the Pepperl and Fuchs, my former employer. Many of my photographs are in private collections.
Some of the framed and unframed prints of my work (Archival Pigment Print or LightJet Print in Lustre finish) are displayed at the "Imagery Fine Arts" Gallery, 91 North Main Street, Chagrin Falls, OH 44022.
